Hotel Rivijera

The worst hotel ever - don't go here, this is money stealing! Terrible service!! Photos you and reality are complitely opposite! Reception service arrogant, not interested and very rude! EXTREMELY DIRTY, bugs in the room, Air-condition and fan doesn't work, no private beach like mentioned, fake receives! You have to go over construction site to the main entrance to the hotel, pool area surrounded with construction site. Green areas not in a good condition - dirty, garbage, smell of garbage... Cats in the restaurant, food poorly and low quality, long wait for meals. And worst of all, they are connected with Police - even if you go to report the hotel, police will say that can't do anything.

I don’t know where to start. We arrived at 19.10.2024 saturday morning/day. We were promised on the website that this hotel is 4 stars. It’s not! Place is broken and dirty all over. When we arrived we first saw abandoned some kind of unfinished, very high building. We didn’t see the hotel anywhere and it seemed we were on somebody’s backyard. It was very ugly area and we were shocked, because we thought getting to see some beautiful nature etc. Then my boyfriend found the way to the hotel reception. We got the room cards. (those weren’t even numbered, all blank white.) Rooms are just outdated and not cleaned well. They don’t do proper or even little cleaning to the rooms daily, they just ask if you need new towels. First room had a broken TV (someone had maybe punched it, it looked like it), moldy sunbed mattress, dirty table surfaces, shower”wall” had a hole in it + it didn’t open so water was all over the bathroom. We changed room once and the ”better room” was terrible too. Only cold water came out of the shower, there was a dead bug on the floor and in the closet, minibar/fridge was moldy outside.. It was _a little_ better but still not giving good vibes at all. Also the hotel advertised that all the rooms have air conditioning: surprise.. we didn’t. We asked about it because our new room was very hot, air didn’t change at all (it was in the 3rd floor and on the sunny side of the hotel) and they answered that it is turned off because its colder. I think that the hotel should tell about that before they promise such things. Also the elevator was little broken or something. It always felt like its going to drop. Pool area. Nothing like the pictures shown on the websites. Run-down, dirty(!!), moldy. We complained about that too, and it was nice to see that little group of people started panic cleaning it on the next day. But it still wasn’t usable and why won’t they clean it daily and why was it in that condition at all. (in a 4 star hotel? or anywhere.) We definitely didn’t swim there. Breakfast was not good, everything was dry and tasteless. Couple of stray cats running in and out. First you come in there is a laptop on the table playing music. Dirty, yellowish tablecloths and chairs. None of the staff welcomes you by saying ”good morning” or anything. They are standing next to the buffet or smoking cigarettes outside by themselves. We left to eat breakfast elsewhere. And it was disappointing because we paid for the breakfast at the hotel. We contacted our travel agency to get out of there and they told us that hotel doesn’t see the reason why to refund any money or anything. They didn’t understand why we were complaining. Hotel receptionist didn’t always understand us, yet we spoke english, which was supposed to be the language you manage well with in Montenegro. Finally, we got to leave the place on monday 21.10. Now we are staying at the real 4 star hotel and you can’t even compare this one to Hotel Rivijera. Don’t go there.

On the plus side the staff were great, but after that it’s not a 4 star by any stretch of the imagination. Hotel is very dated. The pool was not clean, and I did not see anyone use it . The gardens are full of large trees which make it dark and the sap makes the chairs and tables sticky. It also attracts lots of bitey flies and we got really bitten every day. The hotel is overlooked by two unfinished hotels , which is awful. There was a tureen collecting water from a pipe in the dining room. The breakfast is okay, but the dinners were awful. The food was always cold, nothing choice and they don’t even serve drinks with dinner, only a glass of water when you ask for it. The view from our room was a pile of rubbish!
