Sunscape Dominicus La Romana

Pokoje starší, na první pohled pěkné, na druhý už vidíte spoustu odfláknuté práce a nedostatků. Dveře od skříně nám vypadly z pantů, polička v koupelna úplně odpadla. Po nahlášení bylo vše opraveno. Kdo není náročný a chodí na pokoj jenom přespat, jako my, tak bude vlastně spokojen - čisto, postele pohodlné. Nejvíc nás ve finále trápil nedostatek úložného prostoru. Jídlo v hlavní jídelně bylo skvělé. Jsme celkem vybíraví, ale i tak jsme měli vždy plný talíř masa, příloh, zeleniny a k tomu další talíř plný ovoce - mango, ananas, papája, maracuja, meloun. Snídaně byly naše nejoblíbenější. Sice není nutná rezervace do a la carte restaurací, ale musíte dorazit v 6/7, abyste se ten večer najedli, kde zrovna chcete. Když si užíváte západ sluníčka na pláži a do restaurace se dostanete až v 8, tak si na večeři hodinku/dvě počkáte nebo se ten den už vůbec nedočkáte. Západy a východy slunce jsou zde velmi krásné, když vyjde počasí. Počasí v DR je velmi proměnlivé - vítr, přeháňky, sluníčko, po větším dešti pak byly v moři řasy. Na pláži se o ně hned postarali zahradníci, kteří zde kmitají od rána do večera. Drinky a celkově služby hotelu jsou na celkem vysoké úrovni, i když se jedná o 4*. Bohužel jsme byli hodně zklamáni chováním některých zaměstnanců. Recepce je úplná tragédie, slečny v hotelovém krámku taky nejsou úplně příjemné a chování některých otrávených barmanů (Starboard a Coconuts) nám naši dovolenkovou náladu dokázalo občas zkazit. Prostě jedna velká maňana. Několikrát se nám stalo, ze i když jsme na personál mluvili anglicky a bylo tak zřejmé, že španělsky neumíme, stejně na nás dál reagovali španělsky (kolikrát mi přišlo, že je to schválně a mají z toho srandu). Naopak musím vyzdvihnout číšníky v hlavní restauraci, kteří byli vždy příjemní! Pláž je udržovaná v čistotě, moře má nádhernou barvu, pozvolný vstup, když si vytipujete cestičku bez kamenů, tak ani boty do vody nepotřebujete. Největším mínusem je nedostatek slunečníků na pláži. Je jich pouze pár a musíte si je zabrat max do 7 hodin ráno, jinak máte smůlu. Ostatně i lehátka na slunci jsou v 9 hodin kompletně zabraná. To, že nekteří lidé se na lehátku ukáží ve finále 2 hodiny za den, nemusím snad ani komentovat. V bazénu jsme nebyli ani jednou, ty posoudit tedy nemohu.

Stayed at Sunscape Dominicus from april 2nd to the 9th . We arrived pretty late and check in was fast . We had book sunclub swimup rooms with partiel ocean view family side but when arrived to our rooms with the bellboys we had another type of room with ocean view. Next morning we spoke with our Air Transat rep explain the mix up and we fund out we werent in the right room number . The rep was able the fix the issues and get us a free romantic dinner on the peer and we decided to keep our rooms . Day before check out after our day out enjoying the pool and beach we had a surprise when we got to our room , they had check us out , we had to go to sunclub reception to sholve this issues for both rooms , ours and ours friends room . Wasnt too impress . We were very disapointed with both buffet , not a lot of variety and very small . Husband didnt feel good after eating at one of them . The a la carte restaurant was pretty good , Tiki taco was good , Japonese wasnt good and not very intertaining , Italien was just ok , we do recommand Blue Grill , charcoal meats was awesome. The romantic dinner on the peer was amazing , excellent service . We had filet mignon and lobster . Bartenders needs to learn how to make drinks , half of all drinks we tried ordering they didnt know what it was. And they need to smile more . We had breakfast and lunch at Tierra since we were sunclub and food was pretty good. We ordered room service breakfast to our room on our second morning , took a long time but food was good .Staff should learn more english we had langange berrier issues . Pool was clean and lots of entertainment . Adult pool was very dirty i had a black swimsuit and had yellow stains all over . Better drinks and service at the adults pool bar . They always had a smile . Regular pool bar had aweful drinks . Ive been to this hotel in 2019 when it was Be Live Canoa and the beach wasnt this rocky . Even with water shoes its hard getting in the ocean , but still a beautyfull beach . I recommand room 15235 you have a wonderfull view . Since we were Sunclub , we had a buttler named Manuel , he took care of booking a la carte for us and check up on us here and there asking us about our room and if everything was good . I had question concerning our romantic dinner cause of where we were sitting and fund him a little rude . Sometimes he had attitude with us , he should learn how to speak to costumers . With all said and done , would i go back , no but i do recommand the hotel for families , theres alot of activities for kids . But if your a beach person dont come to this hotel . But we did have a good time and loved our room , cleaning lady was very nice but she should clean better , bathtub was dirty and dirty crome . They do turndown at night , get your bed ready for you and tidy up the room . Soemthing i did appreciate a lot .

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunscape Dominicus. Pros: -Really pretty resort. The trees, shrubs, plants, all so nice. Night time the grounds are all lit up. Great drinks at the lobby. A server will come to you while you are sitting listening to the music. They have corona in the Sunclub areas which was great! - Beach - beautiful!! Bright blue water. Only issue were the rocks in the water. They really do mean it when they say its hard to get in and out, especially if its a wavy day. Upon coming I thought people were just exaggerating but I saw a lot of people fall, including myself lol. The last couple days the waves did calm down and you were able to see the rocks as you were getting it. Absolutely bring water shoes. -We spend most of our time in the Sunclub beach area. You could always find chairs with shade at any time of the day. We did walk down to dreams most days because there are zero rocks in that part of the water. -The À la cartes are soo good! We loved Tiki Taco, Chopsticks & Da Mario. Zero complaints. There's a snack bar on the beach. Its not the best but we would just grab some fries and chips with salsa / guacamole. Delicious guac & salsa. Cons: -Buffet wasn't the best. There were a lot of cold items that should have been warm. I was always able to find something to eat though. If all else fails, I would get the pasta that is made in front of you. -The paths throughout the resort are really uneven. Two of us took a tumble and one sprained her ankle. Be careful when walking around, especially at night! -The drinks during the day aren't the best. I think its their juice they use. Not great quality, very sugary. We drank lots though so we were able to find things we liked :) -The only other problem we encountered was not getting water and beer in our room. Most days we would have to ask a couple times before we would get any. We always left a tip and would ask for water and beer. I can understand not having beer to put in the fridge, but no water was a problem. We really did have a great time. I wouldnt return due to the rocks in the ocean just because I prefer a sandy bottom. But for a budget resort, this really was a great place.

Travelled with family 7 of us, ages 1-65 BEACH with soft white sand and Caribbean blue water. Our first day the water was calm and clear, you could easily see the rocks and got into the ocean with little difficulty. The remainder of our holiday the water was rougher and had churned up the sand, you could no longer see the rocks. Water shoes didn’t help, as you stumbled into the rocks unaware of there existence. Getting out was harder, if you got hit by a wave while crossing the rocks and lost your balance you were washed up on the shore with plenty of scrapes GROUNDS are beautiful and well kept POOL large enough, never seemed too crowded. My family liked the kids pool with the slides and the adult slides. We also liked how the adults and kids area all connected and flowed together. FOOD was a typical all inclusive. Having no reservations at the restaurants was convenient for a family. Lunch you had your choice of 2 buffets, the Sunny Side or the BBQ lunch they set up everyday at the beach. ROOMS we had 2 adjoining rooms on the main floor. We had everything we could have needed. Rooms were restocked everyday Would we return, probably not.

Absolutely beautiful beach, but very crowded. It was difficult to find shady spots on the beach unless you are down before 7 am. Staff did remove towels left by people one morning to open up spaces which was appreciated. Room: we were in a sun club room in block 16. The room was very small and dated, but clean. You could hear people cough in the rooms next door, and we were woken up by the carts heading to the buffet very early every morning. Earplugs are a must. The glass shower window into the bedroom of a double room is an interesting choice…maybe for a one bed suite. Mini fridge was stocked daily with beer, pop, juice, and water! Snacks were left once and turndown service happened once. Food: pizza restaurant is a must! Really delicious and the perfect snack to pack for the airport. Tici taco was great the first time. Our server, Brian was amazing. The second time service was extremely slow. We booked the hibachi grill one night. Always a fun dinner. We also enjoyed the table service another night. We only used the buffet for breakfast. Always something good to eat, but surprisingly there was never hot sauce/ salsa for the eggs. Lots of fruit! We ate lunch at the beach. Yummy guacamole! Sunclub lounge had snacks and drinks. The coffee shop made good coffee and had ice cream as well. Sunclub beach bar was amazing. Wish we got the bartender’s name. He was very pleasant and made a delicious passion fruit drink! We booked a snorkeling tour with the scuba diving shop on site. Absolutely beautiful tour. We could have spent less time at the beach and more time in the water. Snorkeling at the hotel was also great. Some rocks when getting into the water but wasn’t a problem for us. Saw tons of different fish. Barracuda Brad (yes we named him) and stingray Steve were fun to watch every day near the pier. We also saw eel, spiny lobsters, puffer fish and smaller stingrays. Sunclub: not sure it was worth it. We didn’t have bracelets so I’m not sure how they determine who has Sunclub and who doesn’t. Section at the beach was always busy. We never went for the breakfast or lunch as the buffet was fine and near our rooms and the beach. Grounds were beautiful but there were a lot of smokers everywhere which is not something we are used to. Not many travellers spoke English. Entertainment was fun. They always had something fun happening at the pool. I’ve never seen synchronous swimming at a resort before. It was fantastic! Loved the coconuts by the pool and the waterslides were fun for our teenager…us too!
