FERGUS Puerto de la Cruz

Krásný udržovaný 4* hotel, usměvaví vstřícný personál....stravování na perfektní úrovni, každý si nevybere z mnoha ingrediencí kvalitních jídel, každý večer jiná specialita. Některé komentáře jsou evidentně od konkurence.....není co vytknout.....v tomto hotelu jsme už po druhé a vždy super.....čisto.

The hotel overall was ok, but smokers in doorways which wafted into communal areas unpleasant. Food standard poor and repetitive, also never hot. Needed to use microwave to warm at every meal. Hundreds of school children booked in during stay which was never advertised and felt like an 18 - 30 holiday. Would never have chosen this hotel if we were aware, as we arrived thinking we were going to have a nice, quiet relaxing holiday, which this wasn't. Very disappointed.

Overall, our experience at the resort was mixed. The rooftop bar and other advertised areas were entirely off-limits, making the promotional photos misleading (the cover photo of the beds for example is an additional extra along). In the evenings, there was a noticeable lack of proper glassware for wine and beer, meaning we had to repeatedly request drinks from the waitstaff. Upon arrival, we requested a room upgrade but, after much back and forth, were told none were available—only to later discover that most suites are located in adults-only sections of the resort. A word of caution regarding travel: the journey from the airport is long, and the transfer times are further extended due to consolidation. On a positive note, Daniel A in the restaurant provided excellent service and took great care of us. However, we found the dining area to be quite uncomfortable, with an unsettling amount of staring—particularly at our young child. Given this and other factors, we wouldn’t consider this a family-friendly resort. Puerto de la Cruz is beautiful with incredible food destinations. Due to the poor quality of the buffet and uncomfortable surroundings we would venture into the town to eat, drink and be merry! I would highly recommend searching around for alternative accommodation. Ps, whilst it is claimed that the pool is heated it is bloody freezing and rarely used.
